Poll humiliation for Ed Miliband on eve of conference speech

Bad news for Ed Miliband. In an opinion poll published in this morning's Independent, the Tories have overtaken Labour for the first time since last October. According to the ComRes poll, the Conservatives are on 37%, Labour on 36% and the Lib Dems on 12%. Lest anyone think this is an outlier, Labour's lead has dropped to two points in the latest YouGov/Sun poll, with the Tories on 39% and Labour on 41%. (To read more, click here.)
