I've always had a low opinion of Fabio Capello and his resignation over the John Terry affair has confirmed it. The truth is, he should have resigned after England's pitiful performance in the 2010 World Cup – that would have been the honourable thing to do, given that he had proved to be such an uninspiring manager. But no. He hung on for another year-and-a-half and then elected to go on the eve of Euro 2012, leaving the team in the lurch.
