Poll is wrong: Americans not most attractive people in the world

I almost fell off my chair this morning when I read about the www.OnePoll.com finding that Americans are the most attractive people in the world. Over 5,000 British travellers were asked to rank the people of different countries in order of attractiveness and the United States came top, followed by Brazil, Spain, Australia and Italy.

I've spent almost 25 per cent of my adult life in America and continue to spend at least a month there every year and, frankly, this poll is complete balls. I suspect that the vast majority of the respondents have never set foot outside New York or Los Angeles. The moment you travel in the "flyover states" you encounter a race of Ork-like creatures with low foreheads, hairy hands and torsos that look as if they've been pumped full of custard. From the diner of any town USA...
Now you folks just listen up as I tell you why us Americans are the most attractive and botox free people on our planet.Let's be honest first and say I take it as given y'all understand the meaning of ' our planet '.Our great country lets its many citizens become obese and need urgent dental attention to calm down the fears of the rest of the world who are obviously jealous of a nation which includes Jocelyn Wildenstein and her natural radiant beauty.
Through our many acclaimed documentary film makers such as Jerry Springer,Maury Povich and the now svelte Ricki Lake we showcase other Americans who sadly follow the European method of not caring about their looks. It no way represents the majority of perfect American women who strive and achieve to be a size zero and make the supreme effort of being a real life Stepford wife.Or the men who have a permanent six pack and seven per cent body fat.Even some delusional foreigners trying to become as good looking as we are tend to have major problems on closer inspection. It's one thing to be a 'friend of Tom Cruise' , kick a soccer ball ?,have a winning smirk with Californian good looks but what about the Mrs?...Oops..So very Idaho.
Apparently there are other countries around the globe who believe in the pursuit of beauty and it's a rumour a lot of it is without cosmetic surgery and they are born with stunning good looks,oh puleeze...what utter nonsense.!!However in the tried and trusted American way of fair play I will list the countries who try to emulate the American template.
1. Brazil. Watch the carnival I am told.
2. Venezuela. After a six hour TV appearance by Hugo Chavez you find yourself on a flight to Caracas and stunning beauty is around you although I couldn't find a decent burger.
3....Africa?..A wide choice of nations to choose.
And now the rant.........
In fact it's bloody obvious that a lot of nations on the entire planet have beauty and it's not only the two hundred and fifty million yanks who are in fact becoming a nation of mixed beauty,no this is not Obama time. I don't know how the survey was conducted because it's easy to manipulate if there is another agenda. But wipe off the gloss of America and spend time in the country and the last thing on your mind is how attractive the people seem to be. A billion dollar industry is trying to get them down to an acceptable weight although it has to be said being fat does not make you ugly.Check out Sarah Palin.
The nation wants to be seen as super attractive in the same way as they understand irony.Isnt going to happen. I guarantee saying the word irony to an American is just as annoying in the way they believe the UK has bad teeth.
Back to Jerry Springer me thinks.
Oh..I have done the Greyhound bus from East Coast to the West Coast, I found natural beauty but not in a survey of good looks, I was just looking out of my window and admiring the scenery. The Americans can be very proud.

American are most attractive still

Toby -
Your piece was hilarious & you're quite right about middle Americans, living in the midwest as we call it. Not only are they fat, oafish & brutish, they are scary, too. Think KKK, OKC bombers, BTK killer to get an idea of the sensibilities of some and the inclinations of many. On the other hand, some of the best folks I've ever met are midwesterners - living in California! Having traveled worldwide, though, I still think the best-looking people live here, thanks to our generous immigration policies. You are totally wrong to put northern Europeans anywhere on your list, though. You need to go back to Spain & Italy & reevaluate.
