Until I had my first child in 2003, I didn’t give much thought to education. I just assumed I’d send my children to the nearest comprehensive. But what do you do if your nearest comprehensive has a GCSE pass rate of 37 per cent? And what if you then go on to have three more children? Suddenly, education becomes a big issue.
