Why have Western feminists been so muted in their criticism of Iran?

The fate of the 43-year-old Iranian woman sentenced to death by stoning took a sinister turn yesterday when she appeared on Iranian state television to confess to her "crimes". Her lawyer fears she will now be executed imminently, probably hung by the neck until she is dead.

Many human rights groups have criticised the Iranian authorities for their brutal treatment of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, including Amnesty International and the International Committee Against Stoning. The mother of two has already received 99 lashes for committing adultery and according to her lawyer, who has fled the country after a warrant was issued for his arrest, she has been beaten and tortured in jail. Yet the response of feminists in the West has been strangely muted. (To read more, click here.)

Your are right! Women world wide are treated as second class citizens because of the myth of The Sin of Eve! Great Blog. I too seem to have the knack of infuriating my friends!

Hostile logic yes you did. Not all feminists are Lefties but media luvvies have decided they are. The Left happily sacrifices and silences women. There have been as many feminist posters banned from the Guardian as there have been pro Israel posters banned from the Guardian and Guardianistas just hate Israel.

So not allowed to speak, told we are all Lefties and then villified. Nice work if you can get it boys. A nice little tautology there

Lot of global tensions is going on at this time. Japan is expected to pull out its money from the global market as they want to revamp their country now. In current scenario anything can happen in the Share market Investors are advised not to panic and stay invested only safe
traders and Stock Tips investors should exit their long positions on every high and one can use every decline as an opportunity to enter market again.
