In the Westminster Village, speculation has been rife this week that a couple of high-profile Tory MPs are about to defect to the UK Independence Party.
One name in the frame is Nadine Dorries, the Conservative MP for Mid Bedfordshire. Her seat looks certain to disappear in the forthcoming boundary changes and, given how critical she has been of the party leadership, she’s unlikely to get another.
