So Ed Miliband stuns the world and makes an actual policy announcement. Whoopee! But hang on. He hasn't come up with any policies of his own. He's just nicked one from the Lib Dems and one from a backbench Tory MP. In my profession, that's called plagiarism.
Just to be clear, the idea of imposing a property tax on houses valued at £2m or more is Vince Cable's. He's been flogging that particular horse since before the 2012 budget. And the idea of restoring the 10p tax ratae – abolished by Labour in 2008 – properly belongs to Robert Halfon, the Conservative MP for Harlow. He's been lobbying for that since the beginning of the year.
I wonder what "new" policies magpie Miliband will come up with next? AV? An in-out EU referendum? House of Lords reform? Can't wait.

Speaking of your 'profession' Toby, how - exactly - do you spell rate?

They'll be calling themselves the "One Nation" party next!
