I debated Fiona Millar on Woman’s Hour this morning — our third go round about the pros and cons of parent-sponsored schools. We’re going at it again on Wednesday in a Question Time-style debate for Teachers TV, along with Rachel Wolf of the New Schools Network and Mary Bousted, General Secretary of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers.
Fiona is the partner of Alastair Campbell who, after our first punch-up on Sky News, posted an entry on his blog claiming I’d been completely trounced. I thought that was a tad one-sided, but you can watch the debate on YouTube and make up your own minds. Fiona is certainly a formidable opponent. In addition to being the Chair of Governors of William Ellis, my old school, she was an advisor to Cherie Blair from 1995-2003, working in Downing Street for much of that time.
