I watched the debate at the BBC's Millbank studio yesterday, along with Gyles Brandreth, Arlene Phillips and Gurinder Chadha. I didn't see last week's debate, having had to go to the press night of Posh at the Royal Court, so I was a Clegg virgin, so to speak. And there's no doubt that he's more at home in this environment than either Gordon Brown or David Cameron. He's more relaxed, more comfortable – he comes across as more authentic. He's at ease with his poshness in a way that Cameron isn't, possibly because he went to Westminster rather than Eton and has been coached on how to turn the volume down on his patrician heritage from the age of 13.
