Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, gave a brilliant speech on Thursday in which he pointed out that in Britain a personâ€™s life chances are more closely linked to the circumstances of their birth than almost anywhere else in the developed world.
If youâ€™re born poor, youâ€™re more likely to remain poor than in every other Western country apart from America and Brazil.
